At Merlo, green isn't just a colour; it's a commitment. The Merlo Group has wholeheartedly embraced the renewable energy movement, focusing on initiatives that support sustainability. Merlo is leading the Green Revolution with our Generation Zero lineup, an emission-free range that exemplifies our pledge to forge a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for our products.
The Merlo eWorker:
One of our flagship machines, the Merlo eWorker, represents a turning point in the industry. Launched at the end of 2021, this 100% electric telescopic handler redefines productivity by delivering an unparalleled 8-hour work cycle on a single charge. Unlike previous attempts by other manufacturers, the eWorker ensures uninterrupted operation throughout the day, setting a new standard for efficiency and eco-friendliness.
Central to the eWorker's sustainability is its fully recyclable heavy-duty lead acid battery, enabling safe and environmentally responsible disposal at the end of its lifespan. This holistic approach amplifies our commitment to sustainability, making the eWorker a truly eco-conscious choice for our customers.
The Merlo ROTO Plug & Play Hybrid:
In a testament to our innovative spirit, we've introduced the Merlo ROTO Plug & Play Hybrid, showcasing our commitment to out-of-the-box solutions. This plug-in hybrid option for our rotating handlers delivers diesel-power equivalent outputs and work cycles without the emissions or noise associated with traditional diesel engines.
The Merlo eCINGO:
Expanding our electric offerings, the all-new Merlo eCINGO marks a milestone in our sustainability journey. This compact and agile tracked carrier, launched in 2023, joins the Generation Zero family with its emission-free operation and silent performance. Equipped with hydrostatic direct drive track motors, the eCINGO ensures seamless operation in the toughest conditions, accompanied by servo-assisted controls for precision manoeuvrability.
Renewable energy at Merlo HQ:
In a further demonstration of Merlo leading the Green Revolution and our commitment to sustainability, we've upgraded our UK headquarters to run entirely on solar energy. With over 100 solar panels installed, we've slashed our CO2 emissions by 7 tonnes per annum. Excess energy generated powers electric car chargers, further emphasising our dedication to fostering a green ecosystem for both our staff and clients.
Moreover, any surplus energy is channelled back to the grid, reinforcing our contribution to renewable energy initiatives. As a company deeply rooted in sustainability, both in our development practices and production processes, Merlo is committed to continuous improvement and expansion of our Generation Zero projects and developments.
Shaun Groom, Managing Director of Merlo UK, sums up our sustainability drive perfectly: "We all have a responsibility to future generations." As we pave the way for a sustainable future, we invite you to join us on this journey towards a greener tomorrow.
