Merlo at Bauma 2025 – New solutions in the name of innovation, digitalisation and sustainability

6 min. of reading

Consolidating its international growth, the company introduces 5 new vehicles, 6 new attachments and gives a preview of the revolutionary HyperCompact telehandler.

Merlo Spa, world leader in the design and production of telehandlers and special vehicles, participated in the Bauma trade fair, the most important international trade fair for construction machinery, building materials and equipment, in Munich from 7 to 13 April.

In a fast-changing industrial scenario, participation in Bauma 2025 represents a further stage in the company's evolution, perfectly in line with the key themes of this year's edition: digitalisation, energy efficiency, automation and sustainability.
At the recently concluded trade fair, Merlo exhibited 15 machines at Stand F/1209 - Hall 1: representative models of the ranges that have consolidated the company's role as one of the world leaders in the sector. Among these, the e-WORKER, the first full-electric handler entirely designed and built in-house, symbolising Merlo's commitment to the development of sustainable technologies. Designed to optimise manoeuvrability, comfort and versatility, it was one of the protagonists of the stand, along with the rotating telehandlers and the latest models in the Cingo range.
Great emphasis was placed on the new HyperCompact model: a revolutionary concept for those working in confined spaces - from construction sites to garages, from logistics centres to warehouses - offering a compact, agile and highly functional solution that can be easily transported on a road trailer.

THE NEWS

ROTATING TELEHANDLERS
The “ROTO” range has been updated according to the different models, configurations and equipment to meet the continuous demands of the market. Three new models were presented as part of the important upgrade project: ROTO50.18S, ROTO60.22R – which mark the introduction of the new “R” category, designed to respond even more specifically to the needs of the rental sector – and ROTO60.35SPLUS, top of the range for performance and versatility.

HIGHER PERFORMANCE AND MORE SAFETY
The new range of rotating telehandlers has been designed to offer operators greater performance, safety and versatility.

The new models guarantee higher performance thanks to:

  • Higher lifting height (+1 metre in the 22, 25 and 27 metre models).
  • Increased load capacity, the machine structure has been redesigned to offer an increase in maximum load capacity. Specifically +1000 kg for the 16-18-22-27-30 and 35 metre models and +500 kg for the 24 and 28 metre models.
  • New load diagrams, the entire machine load diagram has been improved to guarantee higher flow rates during the working phases.

Greater operating comfort. The new ROTO machines have been developed with the introduction of some solutions aimed at improving the user experience and making work easier and faster.
These include:

  • Cartesian movements, a function that allows the operator to move the load along predefined axes (vertical and horizontal) intuitively and precisely with a simple command. This simplifies positioning operations and reduces the margin of error.
  • Set-point, a function that allows setting a predefined position of the telescopic boom, allowing the operator to quickly and accurately reach the desired working point.
  • Handled load memory, which allows the weight of loads lifted during the work cycle to be recorded, improving work efficiency and safety.
  • Driving from the console, which allows the operator to control the movement of the machine directly from the aerial work platform, saving time during on-site operations.
  • Driving through radio control, which allows the operator to directly control the movement of the machine with the radio control, ensuring greater accuracy and safety when positioning loads.

HYPERCOMPACT
Among the most eagerly awaited new products at the fair, Merlo presented a preview of the new HyperCompact, a telehandler designed to operate in extremely confined spaces. Designed for construction sites, warehouses and congested industrial environments, it combines compact dimensions with high performance.
The model at the stand has a load capacity of 1500 kg and a maximum lift height of 5 metres. Its compactness guarantees maximum manoeuvrability even in areas with difficult access, while the possibility of fitting various accessories makes it a multifunctional machine suitable for a wide range of applications.
Easy to transport and with low running costs, the HyperCompact is a tangible response to the needs of the construction and industrial sectors for efficiency, flexibility and sustainability.

NEW CINGO
The new Cingo M12.3EVO is a compact and powerful machine with a modern and ergonomic design.
Equipped with an 18 kW Yanmar motor, it guarantees greater efficiency, reduced consumption and superior performance. The optimised chassis and advanced components improve stability and manoeuvrability. Ideal for heavy-duty applications, it offers uncompromising durability and power. It has an unladen weight of 925 kg, a maximum load capacity of 1200 kg and a width of 1 metre. The transmission is hydrostatic.
This model can be equipped with the CAT 1 3-point linkage with quick coupler.
At the trade fair the machine was equipped with the new forestry shredder, a high-performance accessory designed for intensive work. With a cutting width of 1000 mm, a side shifting of up to 20 cm and 14 robust hammers, it ensures efficiency, precision and great processing capacity even on dense vegetation and difficult terrain.

NEW ATTACHMENTS
Alongside the new forestry shredder, Merlo presented five new attachments at the fair designed to increase the operational versatility of its vehicles:

  • Skip with integrated brush: ideal for cleaning uneven surfaces, with automatic levelling system and wetting option to reduce dust.
  • Multifunction skip with grab: designed for intensive use, it is highly resistant and adaptable, perfect for the agricultural sector.
  • Asbestos removal platform: approved for two operators, it guarantees safety and facilitates the removal of panels at height.
  • Polyp grapple: made entirely of Hardox, it is robust and suitable for a wide range of sectors, from waste management to the timber industry.
  • Jib with winch: the first of a new generation of attachments for ROTO telehandlers, with a load capacity increased to 1000 kg and a reinforced structure.

RADIO CONTROL
One of the major innovations presented is the new Merlo radio control. Characterised by an ergonomic design, the new Merlo radio control integrates a large colour display and an intuitive and dynamic interface, designed to simplify use and improve operational efficiency, with clear and immediate information on active functions and safety conditions.
