The first episode of Season 2, Merlo Partners for Life, tells the story of the British family-run dairy business of Gooseford Farm, Okehampton which is located in the picturesque county of Devon in the South West of England.
Established in 1957, Gooseford Farm is owned and operated by the Courtier family lead by Julian Courtier who is ably supported by his two sons Chris and George. Currently milking 400 mixed Holstein Friesian dairy cows that produce more than 7,500 ltrs of milk per cow per year. Originally the farm was a beef and arable unit before making the transition to dairy farming in 2016. Additionally Gooseford Farm have recently launched a new venture supplying farm fresh milk & flavoured milkshakes via strategically located vending machines in the surrounding area.
