At the cutting edge of technology

Space 11

Merlo’s systems for lifting people and equipment further prove it to be a world leader in innovative technology.

Panoramic and Roto telescopic handlers are suited to all kinds of on-site handling work and perform at their best when fitted with one of Merlo’s many aerial personnel platforms. From the smallest and simplest platform to the most sophisticated and specialised systems with the highest lifting capacities (up to 1000kg), they offer a formidable extra work potential and ensure safe and effective solutions, whatever the operating conditions.
High performance and operational safety are competitive advantages of this technology, saving considerable time and labour.
The Space 11 system is the latest evolution of this amazing concept, lifting two men and the tools required for their job in complete safety.
The heart of the system is a self-contained telescopic boom, with its own elevating and slewing functions, and a personnel platform which enables work to be carried out in exceptional circumstances on both Panoramic and Roto handlers.
Adding an extra 11 metres of working height to suitably equipped Merlo handlers (the working height on Roto 40.25 MCSS is more than 36 metres!), work can also be carried out more than 9 metres below street level (under bridges, inspecting viaducts etc.) and forward reach is nearly 8 metres more than the base machine’s performance.
Transformation from travel to working configuration is easy and quick and for transport on Roto handlers, it is folded back along the right side of the machine onto a support strut, reducing the size of the combination for road travel.
The Space 11 system adds simply unrivalled versatility. It can be used for jobs which previously needed much less efficient labour-intensive methods.
Imagine, for example, the great savings in time and cost for maintaining ships, or in the inspection and pruning of trees, or for work on large structures of irregular shape (water tanks, pylons, antennas, towers, bell towers, cranes, etc.) or that are otherwise difficult to access, such as bridge arches.
