The exclusive Merlo M.C.S.S. continuous slew safety system
The ROTO handlers featuring continuous slewing boom are
fitted with a revolutionary IT system for continuous stability control
of the machine during all working stages.
When the machine operates on stabilisers the MCSS system monitors and checks
the force being applied on each of the four stabilisers.
The system uses these values to automatically calculate the position of
the total centre of gravity in relation to the supports, and thereby decides
whether the stability is guaranteed at that precise moment or not, if
it is not it acts to halt all overloading actions.
The calculation algorithm is valid whatever the geometrical lay of the
support on the ground. So that the operator is able to position the stabilisers
according to operating needs and can be sure that the load chart will
be both dynamically and automatically adjusted to the selected position.

The machine stability condition monitoring operation
is ongoing and automatic, which means that the operator is free to get
on with the job in hand.
Complete reliability
The “dynamic” creation of the load envelopment
in relation to the overall centre of gravity position ensures complete
safety in all conditions.

Machine operation, even in the event of irregular supporting
ground structure is no longer a problem.
Whatever the resting polygon the system automatically creates a “virtual” movement envelopment within which the total functionality of the machine
