Merlo lands at Vienna International Airport

Vienna international airport is the most important in Austria and is located in the town of Schwechat, a few kilometres away from the capital city. More than 20,000 people are involved in the daily activities connected to the flow of passengers and goods. A specially trained division of the fire brigade who can face any emergency situation is responsible for their safety.
Their training has achieved such levels of excellence that the authorities have extended the division competence area, which now also covers neighbouring areas.
The training process is very hard and selective. Simulations are more and more realistic and often entire sections of airplanes are used to reproduce scenarios of possible emergency situations. The handling of such heavy and large structures required the use of a telescopic handler which could operate swiftly even in confined spaces.
After a careful technical evaluation, the Panoramic P 40.9 K, now a true member of the division fleet of vehicles, was chosen for its handiness and compact dimensions, as well as for the boom side shift and chassis hydraulic levelling system.
The machine has several interchangeable attachments suitable for the most diverse applications. It’s not by chance that Merlo technology has been chosen also by many other important airports in the world.
