A new zero environmental impact powder painting plant once again places Merlo at the forefront of technology.

In line with Merlo’s longstanding commitment to the environment, we have recently started an innovative zero environmental impact powder painting plant.
This significant investment demonstrates the company’s attention, not only to the quality of its products, but also to the quality of the environment and of the lives of its employees. No polluting emission, no health hazards, 100% safety for the workers and total quality - these are the strong benefits of this new Merlo technology.
The plant, designed for the painting of chassis and large welded assemblies, is 240 meters long. Its construction is the result of a 5 million Euro investment, producing a completely robotised automatic treatment line - the only one in Italy and among the first in Europe.
Fabrications weighing as much as 10 tonnes, enter the plant directly from welding and come out of it perfectly painted, ready to be sent to the assembly lines. The robots supervise all phases of the painting cycle, from the surface preparation by “cylinder blasting”, through the anti-rust treatment, the final painting and the mechanical handling of the parts throughout the process.

Results are spectacular - high product quality, total respect for the environment and for the workers. The past, when the hand of the painter and his experience made the difference, is long gone. Today it is crucial to have a knowledge of it and mechanics in order to manage a painting process. This is why continuing training is the essential tool which fosters the professional growth of our workers.
