Discovering the others

In a world which keeps on widening its horizons, paradoxically we are more and more closed within ourselves, devoting ourselves only to fulfilling our wishes and meeting our needs, ignoring the ones of other people. The way we have taken comes to a dead end, and it is more and more difficult to find people who are happy about what they have, what they are or what they do; there’s always someone to envy, or something new to wish for.
Nevertheless there are some special moments in the course of the year – and Christmas is one of them – in which we realize that we are not alone in the world, and we discover that only if we share our lives with the people who surround us we can build our serenity.
Well, let’s think about the people who are close to us, let’s look happily to the thousands of daily gestures which help us to fulfil our expectations day after day and which let hope sustain us… the hope that Christmas will never end.
